Authentication

If you need a Certificate of Authenticity for a Camille Corot painting or drawing Corot Experts will perform the authentication study, research and analysis for all works by Corot.

If you have any knowledge about the history of the painting, where it came from or who owned it before, we can also research its provenance for you. If needed, our researchers in France will research historic archives and records. Language poses no barrier in our research, as we speak French fluently.

The power of digital photography allows us, with the aid of special software, to see minute details in your painting as if it were physically before us and we were using a microscope.

Authenticating a work by Corot is not just examining the painting to ascertain it’s style and technique. Other scientific tests or special photography like X-rays may be required, and if so, Corot Experts will arrange to have them done.
